Email verifier: Deliverability Statuses
In lemlist, every lead’s email comes with a status tag that shows whether it’s safe to send messages. Knowing what each status means helps you improve your email deliverability and campaign performance.
There are four possible statuses: Deliverable, Risky, Unknown, and Undeliverable. Each gives you key insights into the quality of the email address.

“Deliverable” means the email address is valid, and messages will likely reach the inbox. This is the safest category for sending emails.

“Risky” emails could lead to bounces or low engagement. This category includes:
- Accept All: The mailbox accepts any email, but it may not be valid.
- Full Mailbox: The mailbox is full and can’t receive new messages.
- Disposable: A temporary email address that may no longer exist.
Be careful when sending to risky addresses, as they can harm your deliverability.

“Undeliverable” means the email address is invalid. This can happen if:
- The address is entered incorrectly.
- The address simply doesn’t exist.
Avoid sending to undeliverable addresses since they will bounce.

If the status is “Unknown,” there isn’t enough information to confirm if the email is valid or not. Sending to these addresses is a risk.
By checking these email statuses in your lead list, you can filter out risky and undeliverable addresses. This helps you focus on the most reliable emails, boosting your campaign’s performance.
