Why did this outreach campaign work?

We love a good cold email teardown. In other words, analyzing why a specific cold email template worked and breaking it down to the smallest details so that both a beginner and an advanced player can extract value from it.

Without further ado, let's get rolling.

Building empathy through pain point understanding.

It resonates with prospects when they see that you understand what their roadblocks and pain points are. Especially if you nail the timing of your outreach. As a result, they are far more likely to reply to your email and express interest.

This is precisely what Benjamin did in his campaign. He starts off by telling you he's an entrepreneur too and then demonstrates that he gets what his prospect might be going through. This helps smoothen the conversation and starts building a relationship.

Visualize the promise land.

It’s always a good idea to tease your prospects and quickly showcase how your product works. Benjamin accomplished this by including a custom image that is unique for every prospect.

But there are many other ways in which you can drive the same outcome. Personalized video thumbnails, custom links with the names of your prospects, and dynamic landing pages are just a few that might come in handy. But the point is the same. Attract them to "open" that piece of content with personalized images preferably, and then deliver the quality of content afterward.
