Why did this outreach campaign work?

We love a good cold email teardown. In other words, analyzing why a specific cold email template worked and breaking it down to the smallest details so that both a beginner and an advanced player can extract value from it.

Know your audience and their pains

Outbound sales is no joke. It's hard work and requires some ingenuity. What's ingenuity? Knowing the pains of your audience and being able to present them your offer in an interesting way.

For instance, TALK solution can be used by many businesses in a lot of ways, but when Nicolas understood what pains are restaurants going through at the moment, he also understood how to speak their language.

Not only that, but he also managed to use before/after hack in his email in a pretty cool way.

Pitch only when you know demand

Pitches usually don't work in cold emailing. Why? Because people don't like to read pushy emails and yet  they receive them every day. But the only case where you can pitch your potential clients is when you can confirm that the demand is there.

This is the Nicola's situation - he knew that restaurants need to manage social media much better during the lockdown, since it's the only way to communicate and sell delivery. So he tailored his pitch to it.
