Hello <fancy>{{firstName}}<fancy>,

We've selected <fancy>{{companyName}}<fancy> campaign as our weekly "What could this campaign be doing better?" round table.

In essence, we choose one very lucky campaign and go though it top and bottom to see what we could do to help your project grow.

We usually do like a bran-storming session with 2-3 people from my tea. (I've attached a screenshot of our Zoom meeting below.)

Erin from my team also took some notes about all the ideas that we had so if you're free sometime I'd love to have a chat with you!

Why did this outreach campaign work?

We love a good cold email teardown. In other words, analyzing why a specific cold email template worked and breaking it down to the smallest details so that both a beginner and an advanced player can extract value from it.

Without further ado, let's get rolling.

Pure brilliance with the personalized image.

With this custom image, Jeff inspired us to write a blog post about the Zoom image hack, but also many of our users' campaigns who loved this approach. Why is it so brilliant?

For two reasons. First, it grabs attention since Jeff merged images of his team and their prospect, resulting in that feeling of true uniqueness.

On the flip side, they can also see a warm, inviting photo of the team, that blends rather nicely with the entire email copy. Step 1 email in the sequence didn't bring the desired result, so it Jeff's follow-up that got the job done in style.

Sharp call-to-action.

If we break Jeff’s email down, you’ll notice the following structure. It starts off with a value-oriented intro, there's an image for the sense of uniqueness, followed by a simple call-to-action. It's always a better idea to have one clear CTA, then add multiple ones and allow friction to kick in.

What can we learn from this campaign?

  • Being creative with personalized images can pay off quite nice
  • Eliminate friction and leads cooling down their interest with easy-to-understand meeting invites
