Merge duplicate contacts and companies
You can now merge duplicate contacts and companies directly in lemlist, instead of choosing between deleting a record and losing its history, or keeping both and living with a split history.
Merging is available from the contact/company panel, the API, and MCP. In the modal:
Compare up to 10 records side by side. The leftmost record is the survivor and keeps its id; the others are folded into it and deleted.
Fields that differ are shown first, with the survivor's value pre-selected. Fields that match collapse into a single line.
The result panel on the right previews the merged record, and you can edit any field before confirming.
You choose which CRM record the survivor stays linked to. On a contact, the company link is locked.
Activities, campaign enrollments, tasks, inbox threads, opportunities, list memberships, watchers, signals, favorites, and enrichment history all move onto the survivor. The confirm step shows a count of what's about to move.
A few things to know:
There's no undo. Merged records are deleted for good.
Email addresses are not merged: the survivor keeps one side's addresses, and the other side's are dropped.
If either record is unsubscribed, the survivor stays unsubscribed.
A person enrolled in the same campaign under both records will appear twice — enrollments aren't deduplicated.
lemlist never merges anything in your CRM. Merge duplicates in your CRM first, then merge what's left in lemlist.
You can merge 2 to 10 records at a time, one duplicate cluster at a time.
A record currently being enriched can't be merged until enrichment finishes.
