We love a good cold email teardown. In other words, analyzing why a specific cold email template worked and breaking it down to the smallest details so that both a beginner and an advanced player can extract value from it.
Without further ado, let's get rolling.
Bill and his team make sure they are reaching the right leads. To do this, they visit each company's website and use a criteria sheet to determine if prospects fit their ICP and if it's a good fit with what they offer.
For example, they check if the company offers retouching services, is there an overlap with our services, and if their clients areEcommerce businesses/brands.
So when they reach out with a less personalized campaign, it fits what they need.
This type of sequence is perfect for Tier 2 and 3 leads because you are targeting them at the right time, but you don't need to add a ton of personalization.
If he were sending to Tier 1 leads he could have sent a similar sequence, but include an {{icebreaker}} in the first email to explain why he is specifically reaching out to those leads. He could also send a video retouching one of their existing photos in email 2. But as this requires more personalization, the campaign would be sent to smaller batches.
Remember, the level of personalization should match the level that your leads fit your ICP.
More follow-ups = more responses. The last step of this sequence (Step 4) got the highest reply and interested rates! If you've targeted your leads well, shown the value and added social proof, a reminder may be all they need to convert.
