3 email deliverability metrics: How to know if your emails land in spam? 

Whether your emails land in your audience's inbox or spam folder is decided by your email deliverability. Not monitoring your deliverability could mean your emails are landing in spam without you knowing!

Using the right tools and metrics, you can monitor your deliverability and find and fix deliverability problems before they affect your campaign results.

Here are 3 key deliverability metrics that can help you spot low email deliverability & tips to fix them:

→ Open rates

Email open rates are the percentage of prospects who opened your cold email and should be above 50%.

To ensure an open rate between 60 to 90% & boost your email deliverability:

✅ avoid using clickbait in your subject lines

✅ regularly clean your email list to remove inactive subscribers

✅ use an email service provider that follows industry best practices

→ Bounce rate

Your email bounce rate is the percentage of emails that couldn’t get delivered and ideally should be less than 5%.

To keep your bounce rate low & ensure your emails land in prospects’ inboxes:

✅ verify your email list with tools such as Debounce or Bouncer

✅ use a professional sender domain (for example, name@lemlist.com)

✅ remove from the list all addresses showing “permanent delivery failure"

→ Spam complaint rate

The spam complaint rate measures the percentage of subscribers who mark your emails as spam and should be less than 0.08%.

✅ add a double opt-in process
