Why did this outreach campaign work?

We love a good cold email teardown. In other words, analyzing why a specific cold email template worked and breaking it down to the smallest details so that both a beginner and an advanced player can extract value from it.

Relevant audience.

Daniel already had connections established and some meetings booked for the upcoming conference. But, due to the pandemic, the conference was canceled. Nevertheless, Daniel wasn't about to let his meetings fall to the same faith.

By already knowing there's clear interest, especially among highly qualified prospects, Daniel decided to keep the email short and sweet. Any prospect can read the email in 30 seconds or less, and replying to the email feels like a walk in the park. Why is this relevant?

Events, top-of-the-funnel content, or proper lead qualification are amazing because they show you which prospects are more interested than the others. With that piece of information, you can be more direct in your campaign. The bottom line is to think about how you can leverage this strategy in your email outreach.

Smart A/B testing.

Sometimes, you're not sure about which out of two different approaches would work. Whether we're talking about two subject lines. personalized images or entirely different sequences, the best thing you can do in this situation is to let your audience tells you what they prefer.

Since he wasn't sure about the subject line, Daniel decided to split test it. When he saw that version B (LeadsCon2020) works better, he adapted and went all-in with that version.
