AI variables: choose a structured output format (beta)
AI columns can now return a specific output format instead of free text, so results are consistent and usable for filtering and segmentation.
When configuring an AI column, you can choose:
Text for free-form content
Number for numerical values
Score (0 to 100) or Rating (1 to 5)
Select for one predefined option, Multi-select for several
Date for date values
Checkbox for true/false answers
The selected format constrains the AI output. Select and Multi-select use the options you configure for the column. All column types can be used in filters.
This unlocks use cases like scoring accounts against ICP criteria, classifying prospects by segment or qualification status, assigning several pain points to an account, or storing a qualification answer as a checkbox.
This is a beta feature with a progressive rollout. Changing an existing column's output type deletes its existing values after confirmation — create a new column if you need to keep those values. Removing or renaming select options can also delete existing values; you'll be asked to confirm. Structured output controls the format of the answer, not its accuracy — you still need a clear prompt and relevant source data.
